1986-1993 Concours Junction Box
Junction boxes used on the above year’s motorcycles are Part Number 26021-1060
They are distinguished by the black and white label on the inside of the cover indicating the fuse values and locatons. All fuses are 10 amp except the main which is 30 amp.
1994-2006 Concours Junction Box
Junction boxes used on the above year’s motorcycles are Part Number 26021-1091
They are distinguished by the black and purple label on the inside of the cover indicating the fuse values and locations. The "Tail" fuse is 15 amp.
All year’s junction boxes are interchangeable. However, make sure the correct fuse values are installed in the correct J-box locations for the year of the Concours. Different wiring harnesses were used on the early and later models.
Do not use dielectric grease on any of the J-box contacts. It is an insulator. Contacts should be metal to metal. If the harness leads have dielectric grease on the contacts, clean with solvent and Q-tips to remove it. Do the same to the J-box contacts.
Do not power accessories by tapping into the motorcycle’s existing wiring. Use a fuse block and relay. http://advrider.com/index.php?threads/piaa-510-installation-tips.328227/
